This break out film does not bar any holds when it comes to cinematography.
It is an extremely sensuous look at a young woman's coming of age and discovery of her sexuality. Blue is the Warmest Colour is highly erotic and emotional with a well textured story brought to life and injected with a warm realism in the performances of stellar actors Léa Seydoux and Adèle Exarchopoulos. Some of the sex scenes in the film are perhaps a bit long, but have a reality and intimacy that asks for more. This film won the Palme d'or at Cannes for both the film and the lead actors, and it is quite clear why. It is well-written, well-shot, well-acted, and well-received.
