The 30th annual Vancouver International Film Fest kicked off with
the announcement of over 375 films; 80 of which are Canadian.

The festival will run from September 29 to October 14 with Canadian filmmaker Sarah Polley opening the Canadian Images gala. Her new film Take The Waltz, stars Michelle Williams and Seth Rogen and will have its first screening September 30th.
This year’s line-up consists of over 375 films from 75 countries with 80 Canadian film, 24 of which are from British Columbia, such as director Aaron Houston’s Sunflower Hour, a mockumentary about four puppeteers vying for
the one spot on a hit television show.
Some films to watch for are Michael Hamilton’s documentary Nash, Bruce Ramsay’s Hamlet, and Carl Bessai’s Sisters and Brothers.
Belgian directors Jeanne-Pierre and Luc Dardenne will close the festival with their film The Kid With a Bike.
