The second play to open on the new Mainstage Theatre at Bard on the Beach was the complex and thought provoking The Merchant of Venice.

Bard on the Beach has a special treat in store this year with its brand new Mainstage Theatre. This marks the start of a new era and is history in the making as Bard on the Beach Shakespeare Festival's 22nd season christens the stage with the romantic comedy As You Like It.

When Mom's the Word came to Vancouver back in 1993 the six writers and creators (Linda A Carson, Jill Daum, Alison Kelly, Robin Nichol, Barbara Pollard, Deborah Williams) of the show had twelve children between them, all under the age of six. The show was humorously relatable whether you were a parent or not, with a universal message about love, commitment, and family that struck a chord wherever it went, selling out shows all over the world.
